Dr. Parker Williams
Dr. Parker Williams was a librarian and life-long supporter of libraries and education. She worked at the Pasadena Public Library in the 1950s and was part of the team that began San Jacinto College in 1961, serving as the College's first librarian. In 1978, she became the founding president of the San Jacinto College South Campus, a role she would keep until her retirement in 1997. She continued her service to the community as a member of the San Jacinto College Board of Regents, and in recognition of her contributions, the library at the South Campus bears her name.
Dr. Williams died in August 2004 at age 75.
"I think you can learn from the community and the community can learn from you."
