Hurricane Beryl, a Category 1 hurricane, struck the Texas coast on Monday, July 8, 2024, causing extensive damage to power lines across Harris County. Over 2 million residents were left without power. Responding swiftly, HCPL began reopening branches on Wednesday, July 10, offering residents much-needed cool and safe spaces amidst the crisis.
