The Kingwood and Forest Cove
community received another honor
this week as the Texas State Library
Association selected the 19B6 Buy a
;Book Campaign of the Friends of the
library Kingwood as thp State
Library Project of the Year.

residents of Kingwood and Forest
Cove for their "deeply rooted in¬
volvement in the Kingwood Branch
Library.”
Since 1983. Buy a Book Campaigns
have raised more than $126,652 to
buy books for the library, helping to
increase the number of books from
19,000 on opening day to 36,000
volumes this year.
The Friends thank everyone who
contributed to the Buy a Book Cam¬
paigns, in any way. The Friends
point out that two-thirds of the
number of local residents hold
library cards, borrowing more than
300,000 books a year.

the campaign. "They are the people
who really made the campaign a
