Edith Pinezich will be showing her
pottery at the upcoming Kingwood
Art Show. What Edith enjoys most
about her pottery is the creativity
of form and color it offers.
Recently she has started working
with porcelain and is making
decorative earrings. Her Raku
pottery, which is an ancient firing
method, is strictly decorative.
Edith has shown her work at North
Harris County College Gallery,
University of Houston, Craft
Industries Gallery and has been in
the Kingwood Art Show for many
years.
Flag Follies" will be a gay addition to the Kingwood Art Show on
Sunday, June 8. Three friends, Peggy Stack, Belinda Estabrook and Gay
• arr, have started this very unique business. They design and make flags
and banners for all occasions. They say that centuries ago it was the
custom to celebrate special events and occasions with bright colored
banners and flags. The flags are made of durable, all-weather nylon and
each is individually machine appliqued from original designs.
Marcie Masterson, a well-known
potter, will again show hei work in
the Kingwood Art Show Maicie
says her favorite part of her work is
"throwing,” or forming, her pots.
Taking a formless lump of clay and
transforming it into a graceful
vessel is very satisfying, Marcie
says. This spring, Marcie has
shown her work at the Spring
Fiesta in Lafayette, the Jamboree
in Corpus Christi and the
Sesquicentennial Texas Arts and
Craft Foundation Show in Kerrville.
She was won numerous ribbons
over the years. Most recently she
won first place in the sculpture
category and the Lone Star Art
Guild State Convention.
